Against the Stream Nation….
Our intention is to create a community of healthy, accountable, wise and compassionate people from every walk of life. We welcome people from all racial, economic, sexual, social, political and religious backgrounds/preferences and believe that the path of awakening is attainable by all and should be available to all.
Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society(Los Angeles) was founded in 2008 by Noah Levine to make the teachings of the Buddha available to all who are interested. Dave was encouraged by Noah to carry the Against the Stream message to the Southlands; in 2011 Against the Stream-Nashville was born.

Do not look upon time as ‘something that just flies away’.
In short, everything that exists in the entire universe is a series of instances of time.
Time has the virtue of continuity: it continuously flows from the today that we are talking about to a tomorrow.
Beings of all sorts, who are visible or invisible for the time being, are all making every effort to manifest, making every effort to flow on. If they did not make every effort to flow on, not even a single thought or thing would ever manifest: nothing would continue on. You would do well to consider this point.

Looking forward to attending events listed on the schedule. While living in Atlanta back in the early 90s I spent floor time at the Shambala Institute. My day job was a night job working at famed music venue, The Point, in L5P as a bartender (social chemist?!) and music was my passion. Your “against the stream” style is unique to my experience and sounds great to this middle aged old school punk who became a bit lazy and a rather latent meditator who yearns to regroup…so to speak. I look forward to the next event!

Hello there! This post couldn’t be written much better! Looking at this post reminds me of my previous
roommate! He continually kept preaching about this.
I most certainly will forward this information to him. Fairly certain he’ll have a
good read. Many thanks for sharing!

I would definitely like to know of any retreats planned for the future, I’m in Atlanta so it’s a lot easier making ATS CA retreats! Thanks.
