Andrew is coming from a background in both buddhism and the DIY music scene and promotion. His interest in Buddhism began when he travelled to Nepal to study Tibetan buddhist philosophy at The Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Kathmandu, Nepal. Returning home to his native Detroit, Andrew ran an independent record label and DIY music venue, booking and promoting bands from all over the country. Andrew came to Refuge Recovery in early 2016 and has since become passionately involved with Against The Stream, sitting two retreats at Joshua Tree in 2017. He brings his networking and promotion skills to Against The Stream Nashville, looking to support it's growth and create a welcoming atmosphere to all.
Callan first came to Against the Stream in the Fall of 2016. After having spent two years touring the country as a sideman guitarist, she came back to Nashville with the desire to find a sense of groundedness and community that had been missing in life on the road. Seeing the Dharma work in her life, she has since become an active member of the Sangha and strives to help support and further bring together our spiritual community. She enjoys hiking, going to the movies, and playing guitar in her band.
